Which airport is best for Cappadocia, Nevsehir or Kayseri?
Nevsehir is closest to Goreme and Uchisar, but Kayseri has far more flights and the drive from there is quick on motorway. Choose whichever gives you a good arrival time, then pick the matching pick-up point when you search. Both have rental desks, and many local companies also deliver to hotels in Goreme.
What is the best time to drive around Cappadocia?
April to June and September to October give you warm days, cool nights and calm mornings for balloons. July and August are hot but dry, with busy car parks at the main valleys by mid-morning. Winter is quiet and the fairy chimneys under snow are wonderful, but pick a car with winter tyres and check the conditions shown per car.
What licence do I need?
A full driving licence held for at least a year is the usual requirement, and each company sets its own minimum age and young-driver conditions.
