Which airport should I fly into, Larnaca or Paphos?
Larnaca is closest to Ayia Napa, Protaras and Nicosia, and it is also convenient for Limassol. Paphos serves the west coast and the Akamas. Both have rental pick-ups, so choose the airport nearest your base and set the matching pick-up point in the search before you compare cars.
When is the best time to drive around Cyprus?
Spring and autumn are the easiest months, with warm sea, quiet roads and comfortable temperatures for the mountains. The autumn season runs long here, and October and November are still good for swimming in the south. July and August are hot inland, so plan mountain drives for the morning and keep the air conditioning on.
What licence do I need?
A full driving licence held for at least a year is the usual requirement, and each company sets its own minimum age and young-driver conditions. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. The exact conditions for every car are shown before you book.
