Prices and availability for Doha come through our partner networks, EconomyBookings and Discover Cars. Your booking completes on the partner's secure checkout.
Doha is a city built for cars, with wide expressways, roundabouts and interchanges linking the Corniche, West Bay, the Pearl and the airport, and fuel that costs very little. Public transport has improved with the metro but the sights outside the centre, the Inland Sea at Khor Al Adaid, the northern forts and the desert camps, are only reachable by road. Driving is fast and lane discipline is loose, so stay alert. Our partner network compares local and international rental companies with live prices.

Renting a car in Doha: common questions
Do I need a 4x4 in Qatar?
For Doha itself and the paved roads to Al Zubarah, Al Wakrah or Al Khor, any ordinary car is fine and air conditioning matters more than size. The Inland Sea and the dunes at Sealine are a different matter: sand driving needs a proper 4x4 and experience, and most rental terms exclude off-road use, so check the conditions shown per car and consider a guided desert tour instead.
When is the best time to drive around Qatar?
November to March is pleasant, with daytime temperatures that make walking around Souq Waqif and the Corniche enjoyable and the desert camps open. From June to September the heat is intense and you will want to move from air-conditioned car to air-conditioned building. Parking is plentiful at malls and hotels, though the Souq and Msheireb areas fill up on evenings and weekends.
What licence do I need?
A full driving licence held for at least a year is the usual requirement, and each company sets its own minimum age and young-driver conditions. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. The exact conditions for every car are shown before you book.
Is there a deposit, and what about insurance?
Deposit and insurance terms differ between companies in Doha, so they are shown per car before you book. You will see what is included, what the excess is, and whether a deposit is held on your card at the desk.
Where does the booking actually happen?
You search from this page and see live cars and prices on our partner’s site. When you choose one, the booking completes on their secure checkout, where you confirm the details and receive your voucher. Show the voucher at the desk on pick-up.
