Prices and availability for Dubai come through our partner network, Localrent. Your booking completes on the partner's secure checkout.
Dubai is built for the car, with wide highways, cheap fuel, plentiful parking and attractions spread so far apart that a taxi habit adds up fast. Pick up at the airport or in the city, and Abu Dhabi's mosque and museums are a morning away, the mountains and wadis around Hatta an afternoon, all on good sealed roads. Driving is on the right, speed cameras are everywhere and the main roads have automatic toll gates billed through the rental, so check the conditions shown per car. The cars here are from local Dubai companies and the prices update live.

Renting a car in Dubai: common questions
Should I pick up at the airport or in the city?
Airport pick-up saves a transfer and gets you on the road immediately, which suits a short trip. If you plan a few car-free days around the Marina or Downtown first, a city pick-up can be cheaper for the days you actually need it. Both options are selectable in the search, so compare the totals.
How do the tolls and fines work?
Dubai's toll gates read a tag on the car automatically, and the rental company charges the crossings to you afterwards, sometimes with a small handling fee. Speed and parking fines work the same way. Check the conditions shown per car for how tolls and fines are billed, and keep your receipts so any later charges are easy to match.
What licence do I need?
A full driving licence held for at least a year is the usual requirement, and each company sets its own minimum age and young-driver conditions. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. The exact conditions for every car are shown before you book.
Is there a deposit, and what about insurance?
Deposit and insurance terms differ between companies in Dubai, so they are shown per car before you book. You will see what is included, what the excess is, and whether a deposit is held on your card at the desk.
Where does the booking actually happen?
You search from this page and see live cars and prices on our partner’s site. When you choose one, the booking completes on their secure checkout, where you confirm the details and receive your voucher. Show the voucher at the desk on pick-up.
