Paros is one of the easier Cycladic islands to drive, with a ring road around the coast, a gentler interior than its neighbours and beaches spread evenly along every shore. A car links Parikia, the fishing harbour at Naousa, the marble village of Lefkes and the golden beaches on the east coast, and lets you reach the ferry to Antiparos on your own schedule. Our partner network compares local and international rental companies with live prices.

Renting a car in Paros: common questions

Where is the best base on Paros with a car?

Naousa is the livelier choice with the best restaurants and close beaches. Parikia is where the ferries and the airport road arrive and suits shorter stays. Either works with a car, since the ring road makes most of the island a comfortable drive. Lefkes or the east coast villages give a quieter, more local feel.

When is the best time to drive around Paros?

May, June and September offer warm sea, open beach bars and empty roads. July and August bring the meltemi wind and heavy traffic in Naousa, where parking runs out by evening. Outside those months the island is calm and many beach roads are yours alone, though some tavernas close from November.

What licence do I need?

A full driving licence held for at least a year is the usual requirement, and each company sets its own minimum age and young-driver conditions. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. The exact conditions for every car are shown before you book.

Is there a deposit, and what about insurance?

Deposit and insurance terms differ between companies in Paros, so they are shown per car before you book. You will see what is included, what the excess is, and whether a deposit is held on your card at the desk.

Where does the booking actually happen?

You search from this page and see live cars and prices on our partner’s site. When you choose one, the booking completes on their secure checkout, where you confirm the details and receive your voucher. Show the voucher at the desk on pick-up.
