Seville is the gateway to western Andalusia, and while the old town is a maze of one-way lanes better walked than driven, a car opens up Córdoba, Jerez, Cádiz, the white villages and the Doñana marshes within a comfortable day. The A-4 and A-49 motorways run out in every direction, and the ring road, the SE-30, keeps you clear of the centre. Our partner network compares local and international rental companies with live prices.

Renting a car in Seville: common questions

Is it worth having a car while staying inside Seville?

Not really. Barrio Santa Cruz and Triana are narrow, pedestrianised or residents-only, and hotel parking is expensive. The usual pattern is to explore the city on foot, then pick up a car from the airport or Santa Justa station on the day you head for the countryside or the coast.

When is the best time of year to drive around Seville?

Spring and autumn give warm days and easy driving. July and August are fierce, with afternoons often above forty degrees, so air conditioning matters more than engine size and early starts make the drive to Cádiz or the Sierra de Grazalema far more pleasant.

What licence do I need?

A full driving licence held for at least a year is the usual requirement, and each company sets its own minimum age and young-driver conditions. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. The exact conditions for every car are shown before you book.

Is there a deposit, and what about insurance?

Deposit and insurance terms differ between companies in Seville, so they are shown per car before you book. You will see what is included, what the excess is, and whether a deposit is held on your card at the desk.

Where does the booking actually happen?

You search from this page and see live cars and prices on our partner’s site. When you choose one, the booking completes on their secure checkout, where you confirm the details and receive your voucher. Show the voucher at the desk on pick-up.
