Do I need a special car for winter trips into the Alps?
From late autumn through spring, mountain roads can require winter tyres or chains, and the resorts get proper snow. Look for cars listed with winter equipment and check the conditions shown per car. In summer a normal compact handles the passes fine, just allow time for the climbs.
What licence do I need?
