Prices and availability for Warsaw come through our partner networks, EconomyBookings and Discover Cars. Your booking completes on the partner's secure checkout.

Warsaw is a big, flat capital with wide avenues, trams down the middle of the road and paid parking zones across the centre, so a car is for getting out rather than getting around. From here the roads run to Lodz, Lublin, the lakes of Masuria and the forests and wooden churches to the east. Our partner network compares local and international rental companies with live prices.

Renting a car in Warsaw: common questions

Chopin or Modlin, which airport is better for a rental?

Chopin is close to the centre and has the widest choice of rental desks. Modlin is the low-cost airport further north with fewer desks and a longer drive in. Pick up at whichever you land at, and if you are heading north towards Masuria Modlin actually saves you crossing the city.

Is driving in central Warsaw worth it?

Mostly no. Trams and the metro are quick, the centre is a paid parking zone and tram lanes and bus lanes catch out visitors. Collect the car the day you leave for a road trip or keep it at a hotel with parking and use it for day trips to Kazimierz Dolny or Zelazowa Wola.

What licence do I need?

A full driving licence held for at least a year is the usual requirement, and each company sets its own minimum age and young-driver conditions. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. The exact conditions for every car are shown before you book.

Is there a deposit, and what about insurance?

Deposit and insurance terms differ between companies in Warsaw, so they are shown per car before you book. You will see what is included, what the excess is, and whether a deposit is held on your card at the desk.

Where does the booking actually happen?

You search from this page and see live cars and prices on our partner’s site. When you choose one, the booking completes on their secure checkout, where you confirm the details and receive your voucher. Show the voucher at the desk on pick-up.
